This web site is hosted by the Center for Teaching & Learning at Brigham Young University. The site is being developed as an information portal for those contemplating or using an online student rating system. A Wiki format is employed so that contributors may freely add and update information about their institution's online system.
While online rating systems vary in scope and functionality from campus to campus, their purposes generally revolve around the automation of a previous paper-based system of collecting and reporting course evaluation data. The possibilities of conducting student ratings of teaching online are currently being explored at many institutions of higher education worldwide. As of May 2008, this OnSET website lists 26 campus-wide systems, 44 with at least one entire academic department, 30 online and distance course systems and 20 with less than one department using online rating systems.
Although the Center for Teaching & Learning makes no guarantee of the completeness or accuracy of any items provided herein, every effort has been made to obtain and report up-to-date information as a service to you, our colleagues. If you are aware of any inaccurate or incomplete information or resources not yet included, please participate by contributing1 or editing2 your institution's information or by providing feedback to us so that we may do so as appropriate.
